Orm the dwarf short story progress

Every morning I’ve been trying to write at least 250 words or for at least 30 minutes and while it’s not the best it’s still an exercise that I hope will help me get better with writing. Currently, I’m aiming for about 5,000-10,000 word short story loosely based on characters or items I find on dwarf fortress. A bit random but it’s a good launching point.

1,700 words. It’s not much but it’s good progress.

I’m doing my darndest not to look back at what I’ve typed so far in fear of editing way too soon before I even finish the first draft but after a couple days it’s starting to get easier. Writing every morning is starting to get easier as well. If I had to liken it to something, it’s like waking up in the morning to watch the continuation of a cartoon you’ve been following for some time.

Not gon’ lie, typing in the silence of morning accompanied by the sound of mechanical keyboard clacking is aesthetic af and a more than welcome serotonin booster

The plot for this first draft short story isn’t something special but I’m enjoying it, it could still go in a different direction from what I planned but so far it’s about a treasure hunting dwarf befriending an outcast that’s being hunted by cultists. I have a loose outline going on but like stated, dunno how it will end up.

Until next time!
