so its been a minute with the quest 3 now. even came with the new batman game but tbh i’ve been more interested in using the mixed reality building blocks given in the sdk. BUT that aside more interesting to me fro this post is that i’ve been making more progress on my passion project game!
i have animated and added some npcs and grass/boulders and enemies(the few i’ve made so far) around the overworld. that and adding the basic obstacles into the dungeon.
i also treated myself by getting a grass asset that would work in vr. so one mobile grass shader purchase & basic setup later, it feels like my game is starting to look like a thing i’d want to play. very nice. but uh, it worked for a bit until i updated the ground meshes with something else and now my ground wont render.
so yeah imma refactor the whole project. cause this is a MESSY project. there’s TWO singletons after careful inspection and like 3 game managers, the sword script also deals with something to do with the health UI of the player. its a mess. and the floor no longer rendering is telling me to do the refactor.
since then i’ve been setting up a new project with the meta building blocks instead of the VRIF unity asset. so far no problems and i’ve essentially gotten the hardest part down of getting analog stick input into whatever character controller i wanted to use.
